CrossFit Teens

What is CrossFit Teens?

CrossFit Teens is our system designed to take youth athletes to the next level whether it’s High School, Collegiate or the Professional level by teaching proper mechanics, recovery, movement, nutrition and flexibility.

This program has evolved from a kids program to a program designed specifically for teen athletes. Teen athletes face many unique challenges today. Most athletes are sport specific instead of having diversified careers which leads to overuse injuries. Athletes that do not participate in a diverse program do not develop strengths not associated with their sports. By teaching youth athletes about the Athletic Pyramid and how beneficial it is to them we have significantly lowered youth injury rates while at the same time increased overall performance.

The Athletic Triangle is simple but unpracticed since coaches have only limited time with their athletes. If I take two identical athletes and introduce a strength program to one of them I get an athlete that is stronger than there peer group. If I add in gymnastic movements I get an athlete who has greater core strength and more coordination. Now if I add in Metabolic Conditioning workouts that simulate the rigors of competition and the playing field I get a stronger, more coordinated, better conditioned and mentally stronger athlete.

Finally if I teach and athlete how to stretch and how to properly eat I now have an athlete that is stronger, more coordinated, more conditioned, suffers less injuries is just as good at the end of the season as they are in the beginning. As a result my overall success rate on the playing field increases and my athlete’s skill increases since they now are able to participate more often with less distractions.

The bottom line is simple, athletes that have aspirations to play at the next level will not get there based on ability alone. They need to be strong, fast, and durable. The athlete needs to show up in shape and ready to play or they will be replaced. Olympic Weightlifting, Gymnastic Movements and Metabolic Conditioning workouts when used in conjunction develop more diversified and more coordinated athletes. Running alone is not conditioning is it one aspect of an athlete. There are 10-aspects to fitness and we focus on all ten. Cardio and Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Power, Speed, Agility, Accuracy Flexibility, Coordination and Balance.
